Vaavu Atoll has a wreck that is thought to be an Indonesian vessel that drifted empty into the atoll a few years ago. This is one of the most “Instagram worthy” famous wrecks in Maldives dubbed as "Aslu Break" now. The special thing about this wreck is that half of the vessel is still a few meters above water and during the north-east monsoon with the currents mainly flowing out of the atoll, these locations have the advantage of attracting manta rays to feed on krill, which makes this shipwreck area one of a kind surrounded by schools of manta rays and other pelagic fishes. To make this experience much more memorable, you will find that these full day adventure packages are combined with other activities and visits such as uninhabited island picnics, dolphin cruises and many more. The Vaavu Shipwreck is indeed a sight to behold and a worthy adventure to add to your bucket list.
