Vaavu, or Felidhu as it is also known, is a gem of an atoll located at the easternmost point of the Maldives and just less than 70km south from the capital of Malé. Only five of the atolls’ islands are inhabited and a few numbers almost 1,500 people that call this atoll home, making it the least populated Maldivian atoll. Tourism is also very underdeveloped and guests have just a handful of guesthouses on the local islands and several luxury resorts to choose from. But, what Vaavu lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. Vaavu Atoll is in fact the most ideal location for a novice to a pro fishing enthusiast and same goes to divers.
